WestEd

WestEd, a national and international educational consulting and service agency, decided to launch an algebra tutoring program named Learning Zone.

Challenge
Create a brand for Learning Zone that would break through and differentiate in an increasingly crowded category, as well as appeal to such different audience segments as students versus parents and teachers.

Solution
Conducted a Strategic Alignment Workshop to ensure understanding and consensus regarding product and target audience. Created logo, collateral, ads and web site. Logo was designed as a “ticket” and the tagline we developed was “Pass to Success.” Created media buzz around the product launch.

Results
The day of the launch, the Learning Zone story ran on the front page in two local newspapers and as a feature article in another paper the day after. Requests poured in from schools that wanted to be the next beta site for the program.
